Pickup 101 Gaining Momentum

Check out this most recent article in the San Francisco State University newspaper about Pickup 101. I particularly like how the author thinks Lance Mason et al. are so much better than Mystery or Style because they are real teachers (and Lance is a natural, anyway). There's a great line from Style in the article:
Strauss and other original pick-up artists had no idea The Game and the business subculture would become such a phenomenon. “We never had any idea that it would be so huge with hundreds of thousands of guys,” he says. He thinks it’s the beginning of a men’s self-help movement that’s years in the making compared to similar women’s factions. “Just pick up a Cosmo,” says Strauss. “There has been a culture of advice for women years in the making.”
This is another reason I think the community is great: it's a global fraternity with no dues. This truly may be the beginning of a solid men's movement to de-pussify our male populace. I was watching Fight Club last night and noticed some of the banter between Tyler and, well, himself:
"We're a generation of men raised by women. I'm wondering if another woman is really the answer we need."
Then of course there is his kick-ass quote during a fight club gathering:
"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."
I never felt so strongly connected with this movie until I entered the community. Wow! This game really is going to change my entire reality this summer.
