The Rocket Analogy

I see the game of pickup similar to a rocket taking off: it is at rest, doing nothing, like a boring beta male. Then it starts burning an enormous amount of energy but still doesn't go anywhere. Over 50% of its fuel will be burned going from 0 to flying faster than a bullet, at which point it is hurled into the heavens. That's how I view the game I'm playing now. I haven't had any real successes yet, even though I'm trying a lot and still getting nervous regularly when opening up girls. I feel if I could just have 1-3 solid patterns for seduction listed out in my mind, from hello to */f-close, I could really start taking off.

However, for now I'm just that rocket, burning tons of its fuel and trying to take off. Sigh.
